Darci is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a Master’s of Nutrition & Dietetics from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. In addition to being trained in contemporary, allopathic dietetics, Darci specializes in integrative and functional nutrition, approaching medical conditions and health-promotion with a “foods first” philosophy. She completed her supervised dietetic practice at the University of Houston, Texas Medical Center and is new to the Eastern Washington/North Idaho community.
A descendant of dairy farmers, Darci grew up just outside Madison, Wisconsin embracing the best of both traditional and modern Worlds. Keeping true to her rural roots, she helped her Father maintain a large garden in the suburbs and occasionally helped on the family dairy farm. She studied organic agriculture and sustainability throughout high school and college, which led Darci to her ‘food-as-medicine’ model she practices today.
In-line with integrative and functional medicine practices, Darci approaches each patient as a unique entity, taking into consideration all aspects of the human body and mind. With an emphasis on whole-foods, Darci guides patients with a wide variety of diseases and conditions to better health. She teaches patients how to navigate the often-overwhelming food environment of today and how to use food to correct underlying dysfunction and to nourish from within.
Darci empowers patients to feel in-control and at peace with their food. She believes balance and variety is key to a happy, thriving relationship between food, body and health.
